THE IMMERSION PROGRAM IS A RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM. STUDENTS LIVE IN RESIDENCE AND ATTEND IN-PERSON CLASSES. IMMERSION COURSES DO NOT HAVE A HYBRID OR REMOTE OPTION.
For credit: All multiweek high school courses are graded (A-F), carry at least 100 units of credit, and have undergraduate-level course numbers. It is vital to understand that, unlike many other colleges, the University of Chicago runs on a quarter basis. Each 100-unit course at the University of Chicago is worth 3.3 semester credit hours.
Each summer course is comparable to a full quarter-length (10-week) term.
Courses last three weeks. Monday through Friday, students will attend class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. CST, with a lunch break in between.
