
The Summer Academy at St. John’s College offers students a deep reading and discussion experience parsing original texts and applying the Socratic method, facilitated by St. John’s faculty. Students will delve into the stimulating texts and highlight questions pertinent to the human mind and spirit. Each week of the program has a separate theme, fostering probing analyses of topics like ethics, logic, rhetoric, law, equality, and more, in small group formats.
Students will live in the college dorms, but they’ll also enjoy off-campus day trips and exploration activities around Annapolis, Maryland, which delve into the history of the area. There is also another program option held at our sister campus in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
