Idyllwild Arts Online Auxiliary Programs 2025

Online Fall and Spring Auxiliary Programs will inspire your artistic and creative spirit and are the perfect enhancement to your current school curriculum. Find your creative voice and forge new friendships as you collaborate with young artists from around the world. Workshop offerings are available for Teens, Junior Artists, and Adults.

Work directly with Idyllwild Arts Academy faculty from the comfort of your home and take your creativity to the next level. These weekend workshops will allow you to connect and collaborate with a cohort of dedicated young citizen artists just like you! Workshops blend live Zoom demonstrations, readings, and critiques with thought-provoking prompts and asynchronous assignments for an engaging online learning experience.

Most teen workshops meet for 7 weeks, once a week. Spring Auxiliary Programs teen tuition is $625, with a nonrefundable $25 Application Fee. Lab Fees vary from program to program. Visit our website for full details.

Online Children’s Dance and Children’s Theatre tuition varies from $60 – $120 for a 10-week workshop with a nonrefundable $25 Application Fee. Class times and costs for Children’s Auxiliary Programs vary – visit our website for full details.

Scholarships and financial aid are available. Full tuition scholarships for online Auxiliary Programs are available to teens who have completed an application for Idyllwild Arts Academy. Contact summer@idyllwildarts.org for details.

Idyllwild Arts Academy is a close-knit, working community of students and teachers whose passion for the arts is balanced by a dedication to learning. Idyllwild offers a disciplined college preparatory program for grades 9-12 and post-graduates-along with world-class training in creative writing, dance, film & video, interdisciplinary arts, music, theatre, and visual art.

The Idyllwild Arts Summer Program has, for more than 60 years, been in the business of broadening perspectives, deepening insights and generally changing lives for the better through intensive arts education.

The Idyllwild Arts Summer Program began in the summer of 1950. Our visionary founders, Max & Beatrice Krone, believed that the arts could engage the cultures of the world in an open dialogue about how deeply we’re connected, regardless of language, customs or personal beliefs. Music, art, and dance spoke to the soul where no words were necessary. The Krones invited artists of the highest caliber such as Meredith Willson, Ataloa, Harry Sternberg, Pete Seeger, Ansel Adams, Minor White, Marais & Miranda, Merce Cunningham & Bella Lewitzky, among many others. These artists and teachers were at the core of a program that not only enriched the lives of adults but extended the outreach to students of all ages from every walk of life.

That tradition continues to this day. Each year, more than 1800 students of all ages and abilities are inspired by dedicated and imaginative artist-teachers for whom the process of changing lives is the expectation rather than the exception. The Summer Program is an invigorating time of intense activity and genuine creativity packed into an eight-week season that transforms lives and motivates participants to pursue their dreams.
