Drexel University’s College of Medicine offers select and competitive condensed, hands-on pre-med-focused programs honing in on specific aspects of the medical space and sciences, such as neuroscience, for high school upperclassmen. The Neuroscience Camp is a two-week, on-campus program in which students can learn from award-winning faculty and graduate students. The program requires an application, which includes a transcript, and there is very limited enrollment.

Topics covered in the Neuroscience Camp labs and lectures:

  • Fundamental concepts of neuroscience
  • Basic lab techniques in neurophysiology, neuroanatomy, and molecular neurobiology
  • Live brain activity recordings
  • Lab project on a topic related to neuroscience
  • Sensory processing, electrophysiology, and brain machine interfacing
