Dr. Joan Franklin & Dr. Vicki Boudin, psychologists and admissions consultants offering comprehensive college search and application services. We personally guide families and their high school students through the stressful time of college decision-making up to final acceptance into a college of their choice.

With each student, we develop a Personalized College Action Plan tailored to his or her needs and interests which includes:

• Recommendations for high school coursework including honor and AP classes
• Planning for extracurricular, volunteer and summer opportunities to enhance the application
• Test preparation and planning, including SAT, SAT Subject Test, ACT
• Exploration and selection of potential college major(s)
• Identifying college programs for unique situations such as three/two engineering programs, five year BA/MA programs, or colleges that offer additional educational support services
• Resume and portfolio enhancement
• Creation of the college list to include reach, target and likely options
• Essay and personal statement guidance
• Preparation and suggestions for college visits
• Preparing for personal interviews
• Evaluating the efficacy of early decision and/or early action
• Refining the best fit college/university application list
• Letter of recommendation suggestions
• Detailed review of all submitted college application materials
• Discussion of financial aid
• Tracking all deadlines and adhering to a time-table
• Selecting the most appropriate colleges from the acceptance list
• Suggestions for handling deferments and wait lists​

At College Docs we offer comprehensive packages. This allows us to dedicate our time and expertise to each of our students in a holistic way. We do not limit the number of school applications, essays or the time we spend with each student. Our goal is to assist each student to have the best college applications with the best choice of acceptances. 

The College Search:
We begin our college admissions consulting as early as sophomore or junior year. Starting with an in-depth exploratory meeting with the student and his or her family, we discuss academic history, expectations for the college experience, personal aspirations, and learning styles.  We strategize with our clients to find colleges that provide a good fit for each student’s unique set of variables. From there, we strive toward compiling a list of colleges with each student for them to visit, and later on apply to, that is both challenging yet realistic. With each student, we develop a  Personalized College Action Plan tailored to his or her needs and interests.

The College Application:
From beginning to end, the college application process can be daunting. Along with the college essay and  résumé, there are many details that have to be accurate, and timeliness is an important factor. College Docs accompanies each student through these challenges by:

• Working with students to present themselves to their best advantage on their applications
• Helping to keep the application process on track with email reminders of approaching deadlines
• Assisting with the college essays as needed, from brainstorming ideas through the editing process
• Advising families on how to make the most of college visits

High School Course Schedule and Extracurriculars:
We advise students about high school courses or other activities that might enhance their college application. Advanced Placement courses, early college experience credits, and extracurricular clubs and activities can help build each student’s résumé, and better position them for college. 

SAT Prep/Tutoring
In addition to admissions consulting services, College Docs is able to refer students for SAT prep and individual tutoring if needed. We are happy to have the excellent services of Alex and Jason Racheotes, who have agreed to offer a reduced rate to clients already working with College Docs.
